West London Ping is a schools based table tennis organisation which has enjoyed enormous success over the last seven years.
They have introduced and developed dozens of players while winning multiple trophies at the primary school level. They have even assisted in the development of a couple of international players.
Two years ago the founder decided to set up a community ranking scheme for London. In essence this would be a series of tournaments for all of those casual players who never get to play tournaments. Tournaments for the rest of us, if you will.
The site allows us to advertise tournaments, take bookings, and acts a a hub for the mailing list. So far the scheme has been a huge success with over 800 players of all ages and abilities participating in 20 events over the last two years.
Creating and maintaing the site has been my own personal project. The site details the work of the organisation and its various partners while providing valuable information for the clubs players and their parents. It also operates as a resource for other clubs in West London.
Londonping.co.uk is built in WordPress and is fully responsive. It benefits from the constant editorial input of West London Ping's founder, Jon Kaufman and from a constant stream of high quality photography provided by the competitors themselves and English Table Tennis's well maintained Flickr account.
